ACCOMPLISHMENTS
* Offered over two dozen training programs with average attendance of 12 firefighters. (Courses averaged 16 hours each.)
* Recruited over 70 new volunteers, provided orientation and initial training.
* Initiated the “Nominal Fee” for participation and achievement. 230 volunteers participate each quarter.
* Helped with wildfires in three states. Earned over $50,000.
* Red Carded over 25 wildland firefighters to the national standards in addition to other training.
* Opened Fire district 14 and recruited staff. Very successful first year.
* Revised and several SOP’s and initiated several new ones.
* Instrumental in formation of fire and emergency managers affiliate through NMAC.
* Researched national trends in volunteer fire, recruitment, retention, training, rewards, incentives, etc.
* Held 10 District Chiefs meetings, attended over a dozen district meetings.
* Contracted for a contract EMS coordinator who has gotten a true program well underway.
* Contracted for EMS Medical Director, along with all the trappings, needs, nuances, etc.
* Benched marked our service with some of the best.
* Took delivery of one new 3000 gallon tanker, two new brush trucks and routine maintenance on 100 others.
