All staff members, receive continuous training. Employees receive over 200 hours of training in their first year and more than 60 hours each additional year.

The facility utilizes and maintains a training division of experienced and certified staff members and supervisors, as well as visiting specialists or experts in specific fields or techniques.  Included in the training are the following six (6) goals that are carried out by all staff within the juvenile facility:

1. Provide supervision of all juveniles in detention
2. Provide needed structure and guidance to juveniles by incorporating Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
3. Maintain a high standard of integrity on and off duty.
4. Enhance community confidence by providing a safe and secure facility.
5. Work collaboratively with all agencies including the Courts, Juvenile Probation, Attorneys,etc.
