In developing the plan, San Juan County sought substantial public involvement
to assure that the plan would be properly considered and have broad support.
Two town hall meetings, ten sub-area meetings, and twelve Blue-Ribbon committee
meetings were held over the course of a one year period in an effort to gain
maximum input. In addition, over 2,800 responses were received out of 35,000
surveys mailed to county citizens regarding growth issues in the county. If you
