Scott Eckstein is the Commissioner for District 3. In addition to his duties as San Juan County Commissioner, Mr. Eckstein has also served as the Mayor of the City of Bloomfield since March 2006. Mayor Eckstein was first elected to the Bloomfield City Council in March 2004.
Commissioner Eckstein retired as a Sergeant from the San Juan County Sheriff Department in 2007 after a 20 year career. He has lived in San Juan County for over 25 years and has an intimate knowledge of our County through his background in law enforcement.
Mr. Eckstein is proud to serve the citizens of San Juan County and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for:

- Northwest New Mexico Council of Governments
- Tres Rios High School Rodeo Association
- San Juan Safe Communities Initiative
