Property tax payments can now be made online by using a credit card or electronic check (checking account)
San Juan County uses Official Payments Corporation for their secure third party payment provider to process online payments.
To make an online payment you need your 8-digit BILL NUMBER. This is located on your tax bill as shown below. To search for a number, go to http://www.sjcassessor.net/ and click on Property Search. (In property search, it will be the tax id - drop the alpha code for a zero when making payment).
If the balance due on your account is .00 you will not be able to find your account on this web page. Only accounts with a balance due are here. (If you make an online payment please allow 72 hours for us to post your payment) Also, payments are always applied to the oldest year due first.
Official Payments Corporation charges a convenience fee of 2.5% to process payments via credit/debit card (minimum fee $1) or $3 transaction fee for electronic check. This fee is retained by Official Payment Corporation. San Juan County does not receive any proceeds from convenience fee. You will be able to accept the fee or decline the transaction before your payment is completed.
