NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 108

AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given of the title and a general summary of the subject matter contained in an Ordinance proposed to be adopted and approved by the Board of County Commissioners of San Juan County, New Mexico, on May 19, 2020, amending San Juan County Ordinance No. 24, changing the dedication of half of the revenue from a county local option gross receipts tax from the support of indigent patients to unrestricted.  Complete copies of the proposed Ordinance are available for public inspection during normal and regular business hours at the Office of the County Clerk, 100 S. Oliver Drive, Aztec, New Mexico.

            The title and a general summary of the proposed Ordinance are as follows:

 

SAN JUAN COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 108

AMENDING THE DEDICATION OF A COUNTY

LOCAL OPTION GROSS RECEIPTS TAX

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF SAN JUAN COUNTY that Section 4 of Ordinance No. 24, effective July 1, 1989, and imposing a one-eighth (1/8) of one percent gross receipts tax is amended to read:

Section 4.  Dedication.  One half of the revenue from the one eighth (1/8) of one percent gross receipts tax will be unrestricted.

The effective date of this amendment shall be July 1, 2020.

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held at the hour of 4:00 p.m. on May 19, 2020, at the San Juan County Commission Chambers, County Administration Building, 100 S. Oliver Drive, Aztec, New Mexico, for the purpose of allowing comment either for or against the adoption of the above-described Ordinance.

Section 4.  Dedication.  Revenue from the third one-eighth increment of the county gross receipts tax will be unrestricted.

The effective date of this amendment shall be July 1, 2020.

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held at the hour of 4:00 p.m. on May 19, 2020, at the San Juan County Commission Chambers, County Administration Building, 100 S. Oliver Drive, Aztec, New Mexico, for the purpose of allowing comment either for or against the adoption of the above-described Ordinance.

Section 4.  Dedication.  Revenue from the county correctional facility gross receipts tax will be unrestricted.

The effective date of this amendment shall be July 1, 2020.
