If you are a qualified registered San Juan County voter, you are entitled to vote by absentee ballot. Requests for an absentee ballot application may be made by contacting the County Clerk's Office at 505-334-9471 or 1-800-956-0900. You can also do one of the following:
The last day for the County Clerk to mail a ballot is the Friday immediately prior to the date of election. All ballots must be returned to the Clerk's Office by 7:00 PM on election day.
United States citizens who are living outside the U.S. for work, school or other reasons, may apply for voter registration or request absentee ballots with a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA).
Military personnel may apply for voter registration or request absentee ballots with a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) or ballots may be obtained from the Unit Voting Officer. Military spouses and dependents are considered to be of the same category of absentee voter as military members and generally should follow the same rules.
All FPCA forms must include a Transmission Cover Sheet from the Federal Voting Assistance Program.
