San Juan County Fire & Rescue serves all unincorporated parts of San Juan County. There are mutual aid agreements to respond in surrounding jurisdictions.  

San Juan County is broken up into 4 response zones, and is reported under one ISO Rating. 

San Juan County also operates the Bloomfield Fire Department by contract with the City of Bloomfield and has a separate ISO for Bloomfield.

A company called the ISO (Insurance Services Office) creates ratings for fire departments and their surrounding communities. In the ISO rating scale, a lower number is better: 1 is the best possible rating, while a 10 means the fire department did not meet the ISO's minimum requirements.
