Short Term Disability

28 day waiting period, the employee may use sick or annual leave.

60% of regular weekly earnings up to $500, remaining 40% is made up with sick/annual leave, if available.

Pays for a maximum of 26 weeks (6 months)

Must pay disability premium for 12 consecutive months prior to utilization

Long Term Disability

Begins after Short Term Disability ends (26 weeks)

Pays 40% of regular monthly wages up to $2,000 per month for a maximum of 18 months

Must apply for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Retirement Disability
