Salary, Benefits & Incentives

Salary Scale:

  • Entry level: $22.13/hour
  • Lateral: $22.77 – $26.98/hour DOQ

Retirement:

  • Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA)
  • Municipal Police Plan 5
  • Retirement can occur at:
    • Any age with 25 or more years of service credit
    • 60 years of age or older with 6 or more years of service credit
  • 3% pension factor not to exceed 90% of final average salary
  • 6 year vesting period
  • 13.8% employee contribution with 20.9% employer contribution

Time-Off Benefits:

  • 11 paid holidays per year
  • Sick leave (accrued at approximately 95 hours/year)
  • Vacation leave – 2 weeks/year (up to 5 years of service), 3 weeks/year (5 – 10 years of service), 4 weeks/year (10+ years of service)
  • Personal day – 8 hours per year
  • Bereavement leave – Up to 40 hours
  • Comp time – maximum of 80 hours

Insurance:

Incentives:

  • College degree incentives:
    • Associates Degree – $1,800.00 per year
